Intex, in their infinite wisdom do not provide the backwash adapter for their SX1500 filter kit. I could not find one anywhere online, including the Intex part service. Their service department suggested I purchase a hose kit from them and canibalise it the get the screw on piece and then source the pipe adapter from somewhere else. This would put the pruice up at around C$45, and their online store said both parts were discontinued.
In an act of desperation, I decided to design one of my own.
Here is the result.
The screw threads had to be designed specifically for this piece as they are non-standard, as was the actual diameter of the part. The 1.5″ adapter pipe had to also be designed, so I made it a flush fit into the screw collar removing the need for any further rubber seal.
The final parts were printed in PLA+ and looked like this.
